Ilyse & Max - The Sephardic Temple of Cedarhurst Wedding

Imbued with tradition, filled with fun, and overflowing with style—Max and Ilyse’s wedding festivities were a beautiful sight and we had a blast being part of their big day! The whole wedding party was a striking sight to behold in their black attire and Max and Ilyse looked so happy and carefree as they took photos with their favorite people. We made sure to feature Ilyse’s gorgeous bouquet as well because the wrapping on this bouquet contained a special touch—it was actually a piece of cloth taken from Ilyse’s mother’s own wedding veil!

We loved watching the Jewish wedding traditions come to life and seeing the joy on the guests’ faces as the reception continued into the late hours of the night. The spread of refreshments was immense, colorful, fun, and eclectic as it featured snacks served in cocktail glasses, sushi, ice cream sandwiches, fruit, Italian cuisine, and innumerable offerings from the artistry that was the main buffet.

In addition to the delicately crafted morsels of yummy food, the liveliness of the reception, and the overall grandeur of the event, there is no doubt that sometimes the smallest details are the most meaningful ones. One such detail was nestled on Ilyse’s earlobes all day; the earrings she wore were of particular importance because they originally belonged to her Grandmother Dolores and were also worn by Ilyse’s mother, Gail, on her own wedding day. We love seeing these treasures that are passed down through generations!

As the night drew to a close and the smiles mellowed from their six o’clock wattage to their sleepier (but equally ecstatic) nighttime energy, we were so grateful that we got to share Ilyse and Max’s special day with them. It was a wild night filled with dancing, push-up competitions, and many generations of love and heritage. Congratulations to Ilyse and Max!

Tabitha & Joseph - Suffolk Theater Wedding

In the magical ambiance of Suffolk Theater, we watched Tabitha & Joe dance the night away. With a shared deep love of musical theater, there was no better place to celebrate love. We actually photographed their engagement session in two locations, because they had done long distance for so many years and it was representative of everything they went through. Feel free to check out their Washington DC and New Paltz sessions. From Tabitha’s exquisite dress to the super fun reception, read on to find out more about this amazing couple’s special day!

I’ve (Michelle) known Tabitha for a long time – we actually used to work together at Radio City Music Hall! When I saw her in her wedding dress for the first time, I was nearly ready to cry! She looked absolutely stunning. The dress was a beauty in itself: gorgeous floral lace and tulle, with a net and lace wedding train that trailed majestically behind her. Joseph also looked super dapper in a black tux paired with a white shirt and a pale cream tie!

We took some lovely outdoor photos of the couple along with their bridesmaids, friends, and family. Tabitha held a delightful bouquet of white lilies, pale pink roses and lavender. The bouquets were ordered from a very special florist: the place from where Joe bought his first ever bouquet for Tabitha during the first summer of their relationship together. Tabitha’s bridesmaids were dressed in the exact shade of lilac as the flowers in her bouquet.

On to the ceremony! The interior of the church was lovely. The ceremony was officially labeled “unplugged” – which means you can enjoy the moment without having to look to your camera and phone every five minute! It also makes for gorgeous, phone free photos :) We had the photography part of the wedding covered; the guests were free to enjoy. After the vows were spoken and the couple said “I do”, we made our way to the most fun part of every wedding: the reception.

It was clear from first sight that Tabitha and Joseph had put tremendous thought and effort into the finer details of their special day. Take for example this: the gorgeous centerpieces were decorated with poems that Joe had written for Tabitha. Isn’t that sweet? A framed card noted the bride and groom’s signature drinks. The evening progressed with lively music and some amazing performances from the guests. Tabitha and Joe looked lovely during their first dance as husband and wife. Everyone pitched in on the dance floor and the night passed in laughter and fun.

We had such an amazing time working with Tabitha and Joseph. Their wedding was beautiful – we couldn’t possibly be any happier! We wish them a happy married life ahead.
